Hey there! I’m Sarah. A sober coach dedicated to helping you get sober, stay sober, and discover what’s next in your beautiful life.

My Sober Story

Standing in my newly renovated kitchen chopping ingredients for a smoothie, I heard a whisper. I looked over at the tall, lean bottle standing next to the sink.

“It’s not too early to drink.”

It was 10am.

I turned away, but the bottle kept whispering. I glanced at the clock over and over, wondering why it was moving so slowly and when it would be “acceptable” to have my first drink.

I had a problem.

When the booze started barking at 10am, I knew it was time to get a grip on my relationship with alcohol.

I wasn’t a partier in high school or college. In fact, I never drank at all until I was about 33 years old. My mom grew up with an alcoholic father and was still dealing with the effects of an alcoholic brother.

Alcohol wasn’t an option in my family, and I accepted that.

Despite that, around the time we had small kids, my husband and I started drinking wine a little bit when we went out for dinner.

Then we discovered a yummy drink we indulged in on the weekends as we relaxed together.

That turned into craving drinks during the week, and it wasn’t long before I was drinking regularly and didn’t want to stop or take a break.

The weight of young kids, a traveling husband, and frustration with figuring out what I was supposed to do with my life seemed to be soothed by my liquid diet. I was hooked almost immediately and quickly saw I needed to get a grip.

But when the bottle started talking to me, and talking early, that’s when I knew I had a serious problem.

It took nine years and countless Day 1s before I finally kicked my booze boyfriend to the curb on March 20, 2022 thanks to several praying friends and the healing power of Jesus.

Even before I conquered my own addiction, I knew that as soon as I did, I would give back and help pull others out of that bottomless pit.

And so I’ve been training to become and life and recovery coach through IAPRC (International Association of Professional Recovery Coaches). I have finished the life coaching portion and have completed the majority of the recovery coaching portion.

For many years as I raised my littles, I constantly asked myself:

NOW WHAT? WHAT’S NEXT?

And now I know…

Through my life and recovery coaching sessions, I help you discover the answer to those questions too. I help you dream big, remember who you are, rediscover your passions and purpose, and take clear steps to move into the next phase of your sober life.

  • A true fact this what you wrote. Non addicts wouldn’t understand this if it hit them in the face. It is an awful powerful thing that gets its claws into us. It’s so wonderful to be out of it now. I hope your [words] help at least one addict out of there!
